Developed and applied a scoping assessment tool to identify inherent risk in a hospital’s patient population. (Joint Commission Patient Safety Goal 15.)

Additional detail: Events that could be identified or assessed using a screening risk assessment at admission were identified. Events for which Safeguards exist were identified and example Safeguards cited. Events that need further attention because the risk is considered high were identified. These events will be further addressed by designing a Screening Risk Assessment to prevent their occurrence or by identification of further appropriate Safeguards.

 Medication error
 Patient falls
 Use or function of devices
 Hyperbilirubinemia
 Pressure ulcers

Finalized standardized premixed drug concentrations for 4 drugs

Developed TCPSC website

Offered CPI trainer certification classes

KGH, Lourdes , Prosser and the Health Alliance all particpated in Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training. Five new trainers were certified as a result.

Offered regular CPI training classes at KGH
New trainers offered monthly non-violent crisis intervention training to staff from KGH and Prosser.
